Project Directors

 

Dr. Hala Yamani

Has the first PhD in Drama in Education in the West Bank, gained from Exeter University, UK. Previously she has directed short plays focusing on Child Rights issues

Mr. Paul Moclair

Has a Masters in Theatre for Development. He has worked as a consultant on Child Rights theatre projects for NGOs such as Save the Children UK and UNICEF in Sudan, Kenya and Sierra Leone.

 

Bethlehem University Students

Abeer

Is an Accountancy student and an artist. She joined the project out of curiosity  to learn more about drama and the theatre in general.

Ali Abu Mustafa

Is a second year student of social work. He is a keen sportsman who enjoys volleyball, football and swimming. Ali joined the project because he wants to persuade younger students that it is not in their best interests to leave school.

Dana Jadallah

Is a second year Education student. She wants to take part in the project because she enjoys the company of children and wants to entertain them.

Dema

Is an English literature student. She loves drawing, singing, travelling and performing. She hopes the project will help her develop in understanding the drama and explore ways in which the theatre can change society.

Islam

Is an IT student who enjoys using computers, swimming, playing football and learning languages. He joined the project because he wanted to find out about drama and to meet people and make new friends.

Izzat Natshah 

Is a student of Social Science who comes to the project with considerable experience of the stage. Along with a partner he regularly performs with his clown group.

Jamal

Is a first year Education student living in Jerusalem. He is a keen sportsman who enjoys swimming. He joined the drama group in order to learn acting and to develop his skills in meeting and interacting with others with confidence.

Mansour

Is a first year student of Education. As well as playing football and swimming, he enjoys going to the cinema. He is a fan of the Lebanese singer, Nancy Ajram.

Mariam

Is a third year student of Education who enjoys travel and romantic music. She enjoys looking for new experiences in life. This desire to explore and to break free of routine has persuaded her to join the theatre project.

Marina

Is an Education student who loves theatre and believes that drama can strengthen the individual’s personality and  skills of expression. It helps her think of appropriate ways of dealing with children in school.

Mira Sabat

Is an Education student. Her hobbies include horse riding, painting and listening to romantic music. She got involved with the theatre project because she loves drama and because she wants to use it to share ideas with children.

Nisreen

Is a first year Business student. Her hobbies are drawing, acting, crafts and travelling. She joined the project believing that theatre can be used to communicate with students who mightn’t otherwise accept advice.

Rawan Qattoush

Is a third year Education student. She keeps a journal of her own thoughts and reflections. She also enjoys singing and accompanying herself on guitar. She has been interested in drama since she was a child.

Sawsan

Is an Education student who enjoys reading, creative writing, listening to romantic music and sport. She sees the potential of drama for communicating with the community. this project will be helpful in her future work as a teacher.

Sofyan Amearh

Is an Education student who enjoys running, playing football and surfing the net. He joined the project out of fun and to draw a smile on the face of others. Drama will help him develop an appropriate loving and sensitive persona so that he can win the trust and love of his students.
